The Lost One (Poem)

Surprise, I can't sleep again, more than one young person of late has told me. "I'm lost." Sooooooooo thus this is born ....

Enjoy!?

The Lost One

You catch him
in the
corner of
your eye.

Bald,
pierced,
tattooed.

Apparently
juiced,
high,
or
a nut,
with a
screw
loose.

Someone
else's
problem.

A lost
one.

You don't
dare
care.

My Dream Eye (Poem)

I couldn't sleep last night soooooooooooooo I wrote *shrug*
Enjoy!?

My Dream Eye

is out of focus.

When I
try
to
adjust,

blurs,
whirs,

nonsensical
kaleidoscopic

bursts.

History is Made (Poem)

Maybe it is just my cynical idealism, ... maybe it is folks the world over pining hopes on one human being with all the frailties and glory being human entails, ... maybe just maybe it is all the stories I am entrusted with the unsung heroes and heroines, that NEVER make the news, that have fallen in wide cracks of our justice and medical systems, ... maybe it is the reality of the good ole boys network, wars, poverty, injustice, ... maybe the stories I know and can do nothing but weep over .Continue

Do You (Poem)

Do You

Know
the need
to make
music
that
swims
in
colors?

Can You
grasp
the yearning
to build
words
that
dance
in
pictures?

Can you
realize
the compulsion
to share
my visions
in ways
the soul
can
taste,
sensualize,
know?

Do you?

Question and a DARE for artists in ANY genre and passion.

I am sitting here perplexed and amazed the second "time" in nearly as many months (more so than usual *impish grin*). Last month a friend of mine (visual artist, musician, writer) down on his luck and blessed to be staying at local shelter was trying to make a flute out of a stick of bamboo he had found, when another man asked my artist friend what he was doing and my artist friend told him, the man asked "What is a flute?"

Tonight some kids (teens) where hanging outside the hall w

Increasing (Poem)

Increasing

I am growing
large within
myself.

Will I out
grow
ALL the
names
I am?

Or become
them
and
more?

Broken Things

This is what it is, my first poem of the year, oddly my sleeping dreams have been thus lately, but if we live life aren't we all ...

Broken Things

are my dreams.
Fragmented
pieces,
unwhole,
reflections
here,
murky depths
disjointed
there.
Like shards
of glass
memories
misshapen.

Endings.
Beginnings.
My dreams,
like me,
are

Broken things.

Re-Cycling

Dancing,
playing
the second line,
wake

OLD
year.

Bluesin'
Jazzin'
the
NEW
year.

Infinite

possibilities.

More Than Enough (Poem)

Merry Christmas! It is my simple personal Christmas gift to myself for over 6 years now to help with the ONLY free public Christmas meal (Love Feast) in town for those alone and/or homeless on Christmas. My gift to you a poem I wrote last year after the Love Feast. Enjoy! More than Enough Homeless, sheltered, and lonely, are served a feast love provides this one day. More than enough. Santa bountiful gives gifts and toiletries. More than enough. Pockets stuffed with napkin wraContinue

Hate For the Holidays?! Sorrow for my city. my state, my country

Greetings, As I am a cynical idealist I keep hoping the world will 'see' and 'think' as I do and realize this is 2008 and NOT 1908. While I am currently honored to be co-hosting a blog to stop abuse and heal humanity http://blog.myspace.com/beautifulwonderwithin on my doorstep, in my city , to someone I know hate filled abusive violence has happened *wiping tears from my eyes* I am proud to call Louisiana home from the bayous andContinue
